Privacy Policy
In an effort to respond to privacy concerns of Canadians, the federal government has enacted the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The purpose of PIPEDA, in general terms, is to regulate the private sector's collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.
As a result of your using the services of Margo Wynhofen, Mortgage Broker, and our authorized Mortgage Agents, we have collected some or all of the following personal information on you:
- Your name, address, email, phone and fax numbers
- Your occupation
- Your date of birth
- Your social insurance number
- Financial and credit information (specific information is set out in the credit application form)
This information is used to arrange or renew mortgages and/or loans. We use various methods to safeguard this information, including physical security, computer and electronic security, destruction of information no longer required (as set out in the Mortgage Brokers Act), and contractual protections with third party administrators.
The personal information identified above may be used by Margo Wynhofen to provide products and to perform services as may be requested by you; and to provide information regarding our products and services. We may also disclose your information to third parties such as financial institutions or financing companies, your solicitor, your insurance company, credit reporting agencies, and companies which provide mortgage life insurance for your mortgage. We may also disclose your personal information where we are required by law to do so. However, we will not sell your information to third parties.
